Windjammer Capital Investors ("Windjammer") is pleased to announce that its portfolio company Flinn Scientific ("Flinn" or "Company") has acquired WhiteBox Learning LLC, a leading software as a service (SaaS) provider of a comprehensive activity-based learning system that offers science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) applications for students in grades 6-12. Terms of the transaction were not disclosed.
WhiteBox Learning, based in Louisville, Kentucky, offers STEM-related applications that combine proprietary curriculum aligned to national and state standards with a state-of-the-art virtual and hands-on learning system giving students the ability to design, analyze, simulate and build their models hundreds of times.
Based in Batavia, Illinois, Flinn is a leading provider of educational science supplies and supplemental content to the K-12 and higher education markets. Flinn's broad product offerings support and promote next generation science standards with an emphasis on hands-on learning. The Company actively sells to over 29,000 schools and 48,000 teachers in the U.S. and Canada.
