Windjammer Capital is pleased to announce that its portfolio company, Protective Industries, Inc. (“Caplugs” or the “Company”), has acquired Shercon, Inc. Terms of the transaction were not disclosed.
Shercon, headquartered in Cypress, California with additional manufacturing in Hangzhou, China, is a niche market leader of masking and finishing products, as well as rubber components, primarily used in high temperature, industrial applications. Shercon offers standard and custom die cuts and molded rubber masking products to protect surfaces during industrial finishing processes such as painting and coating.
Founded in 1948 in Buffalo, NY, Caplugs has been a leader in the product protection industry for over 60 years manufacturing caps, plugs, tubing, containers, edge liners, fasteners, netting, and masking products. The Company's line of protective products are used in a wide range of industries and are mission critical to its customers throughout manufacturing, transportation and storage. Caplugs operates through a global footprint of four manufacturing and distribution facilities strategically located on the East and West coasts of the United States and in China. The Company specializes in injection molding, vinyl-dip molding and plastic extrusion, producing approximately 2 billion pieces per year.
