Feb, 2007 - Jeff Miehe Joins Windjammer as a Managing Director
Jeff Miehe has joined Windjammer Capital Investors (WCI) as a Managing Director. Jeff brings thirteen years of experience in private equity investing and mergers and acquisitions with niche oriented, middle-market companies. At WCI, Jeff will be responsible for sourcing, evaluating and executing new investment opportunities, as well as working with a select group of its portfolio companies on various strategic and operating initiatives as well as acquisitions.
Jeff joins WCI from Industrial Growth Partners (IGP), a private equity investment firm focused exclusively on the manufacturing sector, where he was a Principal and a member of the Investment Committee. While at IGP, Jeff played a significant role in a number of successful investments and had responsibility for sourcing, evaluating and executing portfolio company investments as well as managing portfolio company divestitures and monitoring several portfolio companies. Jeff served as a director of a number of IGP portfolio companies including AmerCable Incorporated, Jonathan Engineered Solutions, The Felters Company, and Weasler Engineering, Inc. and as an observer of Thermal Sensing Products, Inc. and Power Protection Products, Inc.
Prior to IGP, Jeff was a Principal of Kerlin Capital Group, a Los Angeles-based mergers and acquisitions boutique where he provided strategic and M&A advice to middle market entrepreneurial companies as well as larger corporations. While at Kerlin, Jeff was involved in mergers, acquisitions and financing transactions with a value in excess of $2 billion. Jeff is a graduate of Stanford University and has a Bachelor of Science degree in Industrial Engineering.
Bob Bartholomew, Chairman and Managing Principal of Windjammer, stated "bringing Jeff on board, with his background as part of a well-respected middle-market buyout firm, further demonstrates our focus on, and commitment to, making control equity investments."
"Jeff brings a wealth of experience to Windjammer from sourcing transactions to monitoring investments through a full cycle of realizations with great outcomes" added Costa Littas, Managing Principal of Windjammer.
Upon joining Jeff said "I found Windjammer to be a great fit because of its focus on investing in market leading, niche-oriented businesses in partnership with management. The ability to provide mezzanine debt in tandem with the equity in a control equity investment enables Windjammer to put in place a patient capital structure that is custom tailored to the needs of the company. The firm's recent fund raising success with an impressive group of investors was an additional endorsement of its strategy."
