Bob has over 35 years of investment experience, including 21 years in private equity. Bob was affiliated with Pacific Life Insurance Company from 1986 to 1990, during which he made a wide variety of investments on Pacific Life’s behalf. In June 1989, Bob left Pacific Life to join Home Federal Bank in San Diego, CA to start up a mezzanine and equity investment operation. In June 1990, Bob was recruited back to Pacific Life to start the insurance company’s mezzanine and equity investment operations under the banner of Pacific Mezzanine Investors (PMI) for which he was a co-founder. Bob’s affiliation with Pacific Life, either directly in their investment operations or through PMI, lasted approximately 13 years. In 1999, Windjammer Capital Investors, no longer a joint venture with Pacific Life, commenced operations with the goal of expanding the PMI platform to include investor relationships Bob developed while with PMI. Prior to Pacific Life, Bob spent 10 years with Bank of Boston specializing in middle-market, multinational, high technology lending. Additionally, he ran the Bank of Boston International, a subsidiary bank of Bank of Boston located in Los Angeles, California. At Windjammer, Bob is responsible for the overall strategic direction of the Firm and management of the investment staff, diligence/operating protocols, the partnerships, and administrative functions. He is also actively involved in the due diligence and management of all investments. Bob formerly served on the advisory board of several private equity funds and held board positions at a number of companies, including Suiza Foods Corporation, PCA Parking Company of America, Sleepmaster, Corrections Corporation of America (observation rights), New West Holdings, S.T. Specialty Foods, Automatic Bar Controls, BBB Industries, and Infinite RF. Bob received his BA and an MBA from Rutgers University. He is located in the Firm’s Newport Beach office.
